In September 19, 2013, the world premiere of Bang Bang Alley was witnessed by movie and film critics and was even given a remarkably thumbs up by prominent people in the industry, one of whom was respected The Ricky Lee. Bang Bang Alley is an independent film helmed by singer/composer/film director Ely Buendia (together with  fellow artists Yan Yuzon and King Palisoc) who gave psycho crime-drama thriller a different twist in local cinema. With a touch of passing by satirical story-line revolving around the world of darkest criminals, corruption, and psycho sex-laden macabre, Bang Bang Alley is an in-your-face society driven film that everyone must not fail to see come April 9.

Fact No. 1: Nine (9) days after the world premiere was held at UP Film Center, UP Diliman, Megan Young, who was our bet for Miss World 2013, won the title and brought home the crown as the first ever Filipina to win the elusive title. Her role and character in Bang Bang Alley shouldn’t be undermined. (RELATED: Breaking News! Megan Young is Miss World 2013)

PUSAKAL: Far from being a beauty queen, Megan portrays Abbey, a wild-child in PUSAKAL, who got entangled on a personal vendetta turned ugly which made her to seek asylum in far away province only to be involved in another puzzling mystery where hired-killers made her also one of their targets.

Abbey is personified as a brave woman who will stand up for what she believes is just, even getting her hands dirty with a ‘barrel of a gun.’

MAKINA: Gabe Mercado is a funny man, whether onstage or live comedy acts but in MAKINA, a twisted and bizarre Bang Bang story, Gabe was a bipolar massage service car driver who in his confused mind accidentally ran-over an old lady. This event ‘tripped’ his mental state that added more chaos into his miserable married life. The haunting did not stop until he snapped out of his sanity. The ending was just a gore!

ASO’T PUSA’T DAGA: In ASO’T PUSA’T DAGA story, Bella Padilla plays a hard-hitting reporter who in her quest to seek truth and favorable news item, stumbled in an underworld grubbed with senseless and heartless assassins. Her life at stake, Bela was held in a secret location to keep her safe from criminals who are out to get her head. As close as she could get to the truth, her only silence is the only way to finish the criminals’ job.

PRELUDE: Bang Bang Alley intro fits as a song would finally start. Jimmy Santos, a known comedian, made a cameo, as trigger-happy politician’s bodyguard. With so much guilt and too many souls he had taken down, Jimmy took another one’s life with a bullet from his gun while a ‘murderous’ videoke song melancholy plays in his background. He simply and slowly walk away from the scene just as if nothing happens.

And to see this film in full length, watch out as it is finally released for commercial viewing starting April 9, 2014.

Also in the cast are award-winning actors Joel Torre, Perla Bautista, Art Acuna, Althea Vega, and Yan Yuzon – in a very interesting role.

Fact No. 2: Our friend Wendell Garcia, drummer for the band Pupil, penned the title for the film.

Be mesmerized and join the crazy wild ride of Bang Bang Alley in cinemas soon.

Fact No. 3: Bang Bang Alley started life as a faux movie trailer for a Pupil music video. Then Ely B. decided he needed a real film for a fake trailer.
