It’s like everyday is vacation time at Patong beach with all the tourists and locals hustled in this loud town on Phuket‘s west coast. Souvenir shops and restaurants are all busy and everyone’s having a time of their lives. Tourists and travelers shared Patong’s wonderful scenic view, some trying the tuktuk or the little taxi these locals drive around town for 100 THB to 300 THB depending on one’s route.
But after a day’s off and when the sun goes down in Patong, that’s when the fun time begins.
Along the streets of Bangla Road or what the locals called Soi Bangla, is the heart of Phuket’s nightlife. Bangla Road is what makes Patong beach famous. It is like every night is party time with all the bars, clubs, food stations, street foods, massage clubs, striptease, and the ever-popular lady-boys, converge in this place that some called it ‘paradise‘. And oh yes, striptease and go go bars are very common around here as they contribute to the fun fare and merriment of this place.
Beers could go up from 80 THB to 250 THB, and that depends on what bar you pick to have a good time. But for some, it’s best to just buy from the convenience store where beers are much cheaper as low as 33 THB, in cans or in bottle.
There are also many clubs with regular performers, like bands, who can literally bring the house down with their lively music. Hard Rock Cafe is just one of the sought-after places in Patong.
For foodies and those looking for gastronomical adventure, street foods are almost everywhere. From banana pancakes, grilled corn and barbecue, they have it plying in most of the busy places across the beach and streets of Patong.
For relaxation, it’s time to reward one’s self with authentic Thai massage that are available 24/7 around town. These massage parlors charge from 150 THB (for 1/2 hour) up to 350 THB (1 hour) full body massage. Unlike other places in Manila, their massage parlors are open and see-through across the streets through glass windows where passerby’s can see in full view what’s going on inside. 4 to 6 beds are lined up in an open light massage area that can accommodate the whole family or barkada.
For those who are looking for clean fun, Patong could still be the best place to unwind and relax. But of course, we would like to remind you that not everything you will encounter here are legal. Mind those ‘free show‘ offers, okay? If you’re up to a n extravagant and adventure night-out, well it’s up to you if you’ll take their baits. Just make sure you have enough baht money to drink and party, and always remember your way back to your hotel rooms.
For those asking, Php 1 = 0.72 THB.
