The trend in security is not in the data center but in mobility. It’s suffice to say that Dell can provide security solution in every aspect of business any company is into.
Take for example the case of Indianapolis Airport Authority. They need infrastructure and team that is very flexible and fluid to adapt to certain threats and situations.
Dell Solutions allows the airport authority to buy a complete data center that is out-of-the-box and easy to use.
Indianapolis Airport Authority or IAA, owns and operates six airports with about 7 million passengers and serving up to 45 flights daily. “As an airport authority, our first mission is to make sure that we have a safe public transportation,” says Joe Miller, Indianapolis Airport Authority, Director of IT.
“The IT Department is vital to the structure of the airport authority in terms of technology and planning so that we are able to meet the goals and demands of our airports,” mentioned Richard Edwards, Infrastructure Team Lead in a video presented at Dell Solutions Tour 2014 Manila Leg held at the SMX SM Aura Premier.
The awareness and our question on airport data security though, did not come from the current issues involving the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, but were raised to further explain the amount of money invested on data centers whereas the important factors are source and storage and to make sure that these are managed very well.
With the Dell Solutions, IAA Administrative staff cost was reduced by 20%. Server development time cut from 3 days to less than 1 hour.
They were able to reduce their footprint in data center from 5 rows of equipment and 3 racks. And they’ve also seen 10% savings in both power and cooling.
Bringing all those components together makes management of their data center seamless to end-user, according to Edwards.
Through Dell Solutions, IAA is looking forward to a more simplified security management and enhanced business continuity.
With 100% government penetration in the world and 90% in the software business, Dell has become a leader in the computer industry.
In the Philippines, during Q4, Dell had a phenomenal growth in the enterprise business by 47% year-over-year.
“Security is a thing that is such a challenge everyday. There are new types of intrusions, there are new types of threats, and you really need to have, to be on top of your feet. And Dell can provide that solution,” explained further by Sumir Bathia, Regional Director, Enterprise Solutions, South Asia.
Sumir is the Regional Director for Dell’s Enterprise Solution Business (Servers, Storage, Networking and Services) for Dell South Asia covering 27 countries.
