To celebrate Challenge Family Triathlons 30th Anniversary, Challenge Philippines welcomes Yellow Cab Pizza into a milestone partnership for Challenge Philippine Race and Challenge CamSur Challenge in 2015. Challenge Family brand is owned by the largest family in Roth, Germany. Challenge Family, owner of the global triathlon series of long and half distance race, is known worldwide for giving the most iconic and beautiful race locations.
“In February of this year (2014), we held our very first Challenge Philippines triathlon in Subic Bay in Bataan. The race started at the beautiful Camayan Resort and Ocean Adventure traverse throughout the rugged and iconic province of Bataan. It was tough. And when I say tough, it was tough and challenging course,” said David Voth, CEO of Leverage Sports Asia and chairman of Challenge Philippines Race. This year exemplified the announcement of expanding its brand footprint of a new race set on June 14, 2015 – the Challenge CamSur.
“We are honored to welcome Challenge CamSur as part of the Challenge Philippine’s Family of races. CamSur has a rich tradition and legacy in the sport of Philippine triathlon traditions,” added Voth.
The 2014 Challenge Philippines race course in Bataan was participated by over 729 athletes from 38 countries with twenty-five of the world’s fastest pro competing in the race for P2 miliion prize purse in Asia. Among them are Australia’s Michael Murphy and other current world champion.
The influx of foreign and local tourists from each of the 2015 event will have an estimated direct impact of US$ 5.8 million each and over $10 million each including media values. A positive economic impact of over $20 M USD for Philippines. It will not only benefit local businesses around the venue of the races but it will also greatly affect the country’s national tourism.
Challenge Philippines can generate total revenue amounting up to more than US$ 25 million upon its success, which is greatly beneficial to the country’s strong tourism campaign.
